Save OB Group Continues Fight

Supporters of the "Save OB" campaign are planning a day of action in front of London MPP Deb Matthews' office.

Organizer Karen Anderson Miller says the goal is to promote the possible closure of Leamington's obstetrics unit. "We'd like to speak to MPP Matthews if she's available. We'd like to see if she's available to speak about the issue."

Meanwhile, an expert panel appointed by the Erie St. Clair LHIN continues to study the unit's future.

CEO Gary Switzer says the group is about halfway through its study. "They've had a number of meetings already. I believe there's a number of meetings going on in Leamington this week with various stakeholder communities."

Switzer expects the panel to report back to the board of directors in a couple of months.
