Chatham-Kent Council will hear from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing about proposed changes to its land use outlook.
Council approved amendments to the Official Plan in November 2013, and needed approval authority from the ministry to confirm changes.
Now, the ministry has responded with a few alterations to be made. Among them is the stipulation that residential development can't occur on prime agricultural lands.
The ministry also wants staff to study and report in detail on the natural heritage sites that exist within CK. Council will be asked to approve and adopt the changes at tonight's meeting.
