Victim services staff and volunteers may see some changes in their training in the future.
Pam Fasullo of the Chatham-Kent Victim Services says the province is holding discussions on implementing standardized training.
"I can tell you that the new standards will become effective April 1 of this year. I'm still working with my board of directors and my own agency on developing a strategy for implementation," she says. "They're still going to allow the flexibility for us to incorporate standards into the training."
She says once the agency has a clear implementation plan it will be shared with staff and volunteers.
