BIA Pushing For Condo Progress

The media relations officer for the Historic Downtown Chatham BIA says "a two-storey, unfinished structure" isn't exactly part of the group's vision.

Nancy Labadie isn't sure there's much the BIA can do to keep the halted Boardwalk On The Thames condo project moving, but says it will do what it can to help.

"We're just disappointed to hear of the work stoppage. We hope that it can get back on track," says Labadie. "Economic development and beautification, in the physical sense of the downtown, is something that is very dear to the Historic Downtown Chatham BIA and is something that is part of our mandate."

Victor Boutin told BlackburnNews.com earlier this week he was pulling the plug on the $50-million condo project.
