"Why Haven't You Shot Me Yet?"
Windsor police say that's what a suspect uttered to them during a brief standoff in a McDonald's parking lot Sunday morning.
Just before 3am, police say a man was seen with a firearm in his vehicle at the McDonald's located at 3195 Howard Ave. When police arrived, the suspect exited his vehicle and started heading towards the restaurant.
Police say when the suspect exited the vehicle and police told him to put down the weapon, he instead pointed it in their direction. As officers continued to try to get the gun away from the man, he went back to his vehicle and fled onto EC Row.
Police later found out the same man was involved in an incident with US customs at the Ambassador Bridge. Information on a situation that happened at the Canada/U.S. border can be found here.
Windsor Police will be providing further information about the incident in a news conference Monday at 1pm.
