The Wish Trees Are Lit

The Foundation of the CKHA's current fundraising campaign is getting a boost from its annual Christmas Wish Tree Lighting campaign.

This year, the campaign raised $120,100 towards its $6.9-million goal.

"The whole spirit of Christmas is about remembering family and friends and I think that's the special connection that the Christmas tree brings," says Barb Noorenberghe, development officer with the Foundation of the CKHA. She adds the money will be used to purchase new equipment for the hospital. "It's like buying a computer. As soon as you buy one it's outdated. We've exceeded life expectancy of this equipment and we want state-of-the art equipment for the people of Chatham-Kent."

In particular, the money will be used to buy equipment including a CT scanner and ultrasound equipment.
