Leclair Welcomes Potential Funding

At least one Chatham-Kent councillor is happy to hear the municipality will be getting some money from the provincial infrastructure money.

Leon Leclair is also involved in the so-called “bridge committee ” he says it isn’t clear how much money Chatham-Kent will get.

“I haven’t heard yet, but it is good news that they are considering us as under 100,000 people,” says Leclair. “So there is a different formula so we’ll get some more money. Where is it going to go? That’s the next fight.”

The province recently announced the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund and the Small Communities Fund, both of which will help cover bridge and road projects.
