High Speed Chase Through Chatham

A Moraviantown man is facing a long list of charges following a high speed chase through Chatham Saturday evening.

A Chatham-Kent police officer attempted to stop the 34-year-old on Queen St. around 7:30pm following what the officer believed was a domestic situation involving a man and woman.

Police say the driver refused to stop and attempted to outrun the officer.

The chase was called off but police say they identified the driver as Peter Hopkins. Charges include; flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while disqualified and suspended and breach of recognizance.
