Flight Fest Brings Flying FortressJuly 16, 2014 11:15am
A Flying Fortress B-17 arrived at the Chatham-Kent Municipal Airport about mid-morning today kicking off the first Flight Fest.
The event includes tethered hot air balloon rides, radio controlled flight demonstrations and co-organizer Bruce Davidson says a number of other air craft are on the ground.
“An experimental aircraft, we’ve got two Chipmunks former training aircraft with the Air Force from the 1950s and 1960s,” he says. “We’ve got an RCAF fire truck that work at the Trenton Air Force base.”
A number of local residents have prepaid for flights in the B-17, so it will be taking off and landing several times.
