Windsor & London Unemployment Up

Windsor’s unemployment rate for the month of March took a slight dip compared to the previous month.

The jobless rate now sits at 7.3% compared to 7.2% in February. Of the 34 cities and municipalities recorded by Statistics Canada, Windsor came in 23rd on the list. In nearby London the employment rate went up 0.2% to 8.2%.

At the provincial level Ontario’s jobless rate improved slightly from 7.5% to 7.3%.

While nationally, the unemployment rate improved to a post-recession low of 6.9% from 7% as the economy added 43,000.
