Users of Twitter will be able to follow the actions of Chatham-Kent police officers as they respond to calls between 9 pm and 3 pm tonight.
Public information officer Renee Cowell will be tweeting in real time as officers patrol and respond to calls.
“I will actually be sitting in the dispatch in our communications centre, and I will be tweeting the calls as they are coming in,” she says. “How we are actually responding to the calls, and dealing with the calls after the fact.”
Cowell will not be providing specific address, but will mention the area where a call happens, and she says tonight was chosen because it is expected to be a busy one. Anyone with Twitter can follow Cowell’s tweets at ckpsmedia, and she will be using the hashtag #ckpslive.
