Provincial Police have released the name of a Chatham man killed in a single-vehicle accident on the 401.

Derrick William Pierce was heading west near Skane Road shortly after noon on Wednesday when his vehicle left the road and rolled into the ditch.

The 45-year-old was ejected from the vehicle. He was rushed to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
