Grain Farmers of Ontario’s research department is hosting the first annual GFO-funded Research Tour on August 3, 2017.
This tour will begin at the U of G, Ridgetown Campus and will cover projects on weed resistance, wheat breeding, soil health and field crop diseases.
The tour will also include plot tours off campus at Cottam plots and a discussion of Field Crop diseases by Alberta Tenuta of OMAFRA.
Investment in research is a long-term strategic initiative of Grain Farmers of Ontario for the benefit of all barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat farmers. Ontario’s grain farmers have sponsored and participated in decades of practical research that has resulted in economic gains and improved agricultural sustainability for Ontario farmers and the Ontario environment.
This Research Tour is also an opportunity to talk to staff about research programs, the research database and research funding.
The Research Tour is open to all farmers, however, space is limited and a RSVP is required by July 31.
Please contact Natalie Dimeo by calling the office at 1-800- 265-0550 to register.
