Ready For Farmers’ Week

Organizers are ready for the 52nd Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week which starts next Wednesday.

The seven day agricultural conference will also be streamed for those who cannot make it in person.

There is a cost involved for that, $10 per day or $50 per week. The link is at Evenbrite.ca to pre-register.

Grey County Ag Services and a number of agricultural commodity leaders from Grey and Bruce Counties are cooridating the event covering multiple topics.

A snap shot of the speakers and panels:

Beef Day; various speakers from the day’s roster, plus the Vice President of BFO, and two producers, will tease out The Quest for Greater Stability in the Beef Sector.

Dairy Day; three producers, will share their perspective on Calf Rearing.

Goat Day; two goat milk producers, and a nutritionist, to provide their perspectives on Finding Efficiencies and Productivity.

Sheep Day; two fencing companies, and the OMAFRA Forage and Grazier Specialist, will provide their perspectives on Fencing Options.

Ecological Day: two Ontario pork producers, and the farm manager from the Rodale Institute Pig Project in Pennsylvania (via video conferencing), will discuss their Pastured Pork operations.

Crops Day; four OMAFRA Field Crop Specialists, will be on the stage for an Ask the Experts session.

Grey Bruce Farmers’ Week will be held at the Elmwood Community Centre just 8 km north of Hanover on County Road 10.
