Celebrating Perth County Agriculture At GalaNovember 24, 2017 10:08am
The Perth County Federation of Agriculture recently held its third annual Harvest Gala.
The Perth County Federation of Agriculture awarded an Agricultural Recognition Award highlighting an individuals’ contributions to Perth agriculture and community initiatives.
This year Bill and Agnes Denham from St. Marys were the recipients for their extensive involvement with various agriculture and community groups such as; Perth County Pork Producers, Perth County Grain Farmers, Perth County Federation of Agriculture, Perth County Soil & Crop Improvement Association, and many community groups.
Continuing Education Scholarships were also awarded.
Rachel Weber attends Conestoga College working towards a Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science, and Samuel Knechtel who is attending University of Guelph for a Bachelor of Commerce in Food and Agriculture.
The Continuing Education Scholarship awards two, $1000 scholarships to students from Perth County entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years of post-secondary education.
The Perth Harvest Gala focused not only on celebration but also supporting local food and business.
