The Huron County Health Unit is currently recruiting Community Food Advisor (CFA) volunteers.
The health unit will have CFA demonstrations at the Threshers’ Reunion in Blyth and International Plowing Match in Walton.
Liz Higgins is a Public Health Dietitian and says the events are just two examples of the educational, and food-focused, demonstrations the Community Food Advisors do regularly across Huron County.
CFA training provides volunteers with the knowledge and skills to promote healthy eating and food safety through presentations, cooking classes and other educational appearances.
In 2016 alone, the 22 Huron County CFAs reached over 2300 people.
CFA training is free and will begin in October.
