Perth Junior Farmers Successful Fritter Fundraiser

The Perth County Junior Farmers got a boost from visitors at the recent Canadian Dairy XPO.

The group was using the opportunity as a fundraiser by selling apple fritters.

By the end of the expo, the Perth County Junior Farmers sold 2000 fritters over two days.

The money raise will help support junior farmers initiatives across Perth County.

“We are grateful for the support of CDX who helped us come up with a plan to sell apple fritters, which they thought would give us a boost in our sales. And as it turns out they were right,” said Andy Louwagie, CDX Committee Chair of PerthJF.

“Our members enjoyed connecting with CDX visitors and bringing awareness about Junior Farmers. It was a bonus that everyone seemed to love our fritters and kept coming back for more,” he said.

Fritters were made using Ontario grown apples from Martin’s Family Fruit Farm.

The food truck was partially sponsored thanks to Sunset Diner based in St. Mary’s.
