Canada’s Minister of Agriculture will soon head out on a trade mission to Vietnam and India.
Lawrence MacAulay highlighted details of his upcoming trip at the Canadian Federation of Agriculture annual meeting yesterday in Ottawa.
He says the federal government believes trade is important to the industry, and the Asia-Pacific region has been deemed a priority market.
MacAulay also told his audience the government’s aim is to make farmers more competitive at home and abroad by identifying export opportunities across the world.
The Minister will meet with Vietnamese and Indian counterparts while on the mission, to discuss topics of common interest to expand key Asian markets.
He’ll also be joined by a group of representatives from across the agri-food and seafood sectors.
