CCA Ready To Work With New U.S. Ag Secretary

With a new administration set to come into power south of the border, the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association has pledged to work with the new Ag Secretary for the benefit of Canadian producers.

The CCA feels much will hinge on whether or not current trade agreements will remain in effect.

The Association says it’s been using a strong relationship with American industry representatives to make sure the needs of Canadian producers are met.

After reports a while ago mentioned the re-instatement of Country of Origin Labeling, the CCA was able to work with those in the incoming government to explain why COOL was a poor policy.

As a result, the labeling program has been removed from the Trump trade policy plan.

The CCA adds working with the new administration could be good, as it gives both sides the chance to address outdated regulations on shipping live cattle to the U.S.
