Tractor Driver Flees Police Stop

A South Huron man faces a number of charges after allegedly trying to escape police on a tractor pulling a hay wagon.

OPP say they were responding to calls of a driver operating a tractor and hay wagon in the area of Parr Line and Huron Street in South Huron around 8:30 Sunday evening.

When they tried to pull the driver over, he turned into a freshly planted corn field and abandoned it in a nearby bush lot.

Officers were able to identify the driver of the tractor and arrested him a short time later trying to get into his residence.

The 21 year old faces charges including Impaired Driving, Flight While Pursued By Peace Officer and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
